ProMatch vs Angi and HomeAdvisor: An Honest Comparison for Contractors

Updated October 27, 2026 | For contractors and home service pros

Angi and HomeAdvisor are the biggest names in home service leads. They are also the same lead program: the FTC notes that HomeAdvisor "also does business as Angi Leads and HomeAdvisor Powered by Angi" (FTC). Here is how ProMatch differs, based on published terms and public sources, and where the big platforms may still be the right call.

Lead prices are published by trade on the contractor signup page. You pay only when a lead is delivered, from a prepaid balance.

The cost that matters is cost per booked job

A low sticker price means little if you win one job in ten. Divide the lead price by your close rate. Contractor guides put shared-lead close rates at roughly 10 to 20 percent, which works out to about $250 to $500 per booked job on the big platforms (HomeShowOff). Capping how many pros share a lead, or buying exclusive leads, is meant to improve the share of leads you win. Use our cost-per-booked-job guide to run your own numbers.

What the FTC found about lead marketing

In 2023 the FTC finalized an order requiring HomeAdvisor to pay up to $7.2 million over allegations that it made false or unsubstantiated claims about lead quality and conversion rates and misrepresented a free trial of an add-on product (FTC press release). The agency later mailed more than $3 million in refunds to members (FTC refunds). That is history, not a verdict on today's product, but it is a good reason to read any lead company's terms closely, including ours.

When Angi or HomeAdvisor may still make sense

Many contractors run two or three sources at once. If you try ProMatch, track leads, calls and booked jobs for 30 days next to your current source and keep whichever has the lower cost per booked job.

What ProMatch asks of you

Frequently asked questions

Are Angi and HomeAdvisor the same company?

They operate the same lead program. The FTC states that HomeAdvisor also does business as Angi Leads and HomeAdvisor Powered by Angi.

Is ProMatch cheaper than Angi?

Not at every price point. Our current lead prices are a limited-time rate and our regular prices are comparable to published ranges. The difference is no annual fee, a cap of three contractors on shared leads, an exclusive option and prepaid spend control. Compare cost per booked job, not price per lead.

Can I use ProMatch and Angi together?

Yes. There is no exclusivity requirement, and testing side by side for 30 days is the best way to compare.

Does ProMatch offer refunds on leads?

Reply to the lead email if a lead looks wrong and we will look into it. We do not publish a formal refund policy on this page.
